Our Services

Two planned services, shaped around you.

Bridgepoint is developing two distinct Maryland services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. What support looks like for you depends on your goals, your assessed needs and the services authorized in your plan.

Personal Supports

Individualized support to help you develop and maintain independent living skills at home and in the community. A support professional works alongside you, so you do as much as you can and want to — with guidance where it helps.

Support could include

  • Planning and preparing meals
  • Building and keeping daily routines
  • Household tasks like laundry and tidying
  • Communicating your preferences and decisions
  • Taking part in community activities

Actual activities are guided by your assessed needs and your authorized plan.

Community Development Services

Support to develop and maintain skills for community membership, social connections and self-advocacy, through activities in ordinary community places you choose.

Activities might include

  • Library visits and cultural activities
  • Volunteering with local organizations
  • Joining groups that share your interests
  • Practicing speaking up for yourself in community settings

Activities are chosen with you for your goals — not a fixed schedule or set itinerary.

How the two services differ

Personal Supports

Focuses on independent living skills — the routines and tasks of running your own day, at home and out in the community.

Community Development Services

Focuses on community membership — relationships, belonging and self-advocacy built through shared activities in community places.

The services in your plan depend on your goals and assessed needs. Your Coordinator of Community Services can help you discuss which supports may be appropriate.

Funding

The Community Pathways Waiver

Bridgepoint intends to offer these services through Maryland's Community Pathways Waiver for eligible adults. This depends on Bridgepoint completing its agency approvals and enrollment, and on each person's individually authorized services.

Your Coordinator of Community Services (CCS) can help you talk through eligibility, service planning and authorization. We're glad to join that conversation when you're ready.
